Delete Your Data
Bujit keeps your budget on your device. It has no user accounts, and the Bujit server stores none of your data, so there is nothing to request from us: you can delete everything yourself, right away, as described below.
1. Delete everything in the app
- Open Bujit and go to Settings (from the ☰ menu).
- Under Data, tap Clear all data, then Clear Everything.
This permanently deletes your expenses, credit cards, income streams, balance, accounts and single events. It also disconnects any linked banks, revoking their access with Plaid, and turns off Google Tasks sync.
2. Or uninstall the app
Uninstalling Bujit, or clearing its storage in your phone's settings (Android: Settings → Apps → Bujit → Storage → Clear data), deletes everything the app stored on your device. To also revoke bank access with Plaid, disconnect your banks in the app first (below), or remove Bujit's access from your Plaid Portal.
3. Linked banks (Plaid)
In Bujit, open Linked Accounts and tap the disconnect button to choose banks to disconnect. Bujit revokes each one's access token with Plaid and forgets it on your device. Data Plaid itself holds is covered by Plaid's privacy policy, and can be managed from the Plaid Portal.
4. Google Tasks or Apple Reminders
In Bujit, open Settings and turn off Sync to Google Tasks, then choose Remove tasks to delete the tasks Bujit added. You can also delete the "Bujit" list in Google Tasks yourself, and remove Bujit's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
On iPhone, if you sync to Apple Reminders instead: turn off Sync to Apple Reminders and choose Remove reminders, or delete the "Bujit" list in the Reminders app. To remove Bujit's access, open the iPhone Settings app, then Bujit, then Reminders.
5. Backups you exported
Backups are passphrase-encrypted files saved wherever you chose (for example your device's storage or a cloud drive). Delete them there like any other file.
What isn't kept
The Bujit server only passes balance requests through to Plaid; it does not log or retain account data. The app signs in to Firebase anonymously to make those requests; that anonymous sign-in carries no personal information (no name, email or phone number). If you would like it removed as well, or have any other question, use the contact form with "Delete my data" as the topic.
